MOHEX SARAJEVO 2009

The MOHEX Sarajevo 2009 was held on the 29th – 30th April 2009. Hon. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Radin Umar bin Radin Sohadi, Director General Department of Higher Education headed the delegation of 10 higher educational institutions, drawing about 3000 visitors for the two day event. The event was inaugurated by the Hon. Mrs. Meliha Alic, Menteri di Ministry of Education and Science, Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

MOHEX Mauritius 2009
Date : 11-17 February 2009
Venue : Quatre Bornes Municipal Hall, Mauritius

The MOHEX Mauritius 2009 was held on the 11th – 17th Feb. 15 IPTs took part in the exhibition, drawing about 3000 visitors for the two day event. The event was inaugurated by the Hon. Rajeshwar JEETAH, Minister of Health & Quality of life. About 70 students registered to study in Malaysia during the event.

Govt plans to attract more foreign students
The Higher Education Ministry has plans in attracting more foreign students and increasing graduate employability.

Education Road-show in Iran (Nov 2008)
Malaysia Education Promotion Centre is planning to organize an Education Road-show in Iran in the month of November 2008. In this regard, MEPC Dubai is inviting quotation from interested event organizers. This event will be organized at two cities (Tehran and Esfahan or Shiraz) in Iran. [ Read ]

New Director General, Department of Higher Education
Y.Bhg. Prof. Dato' Ir. Dr. Radin Umar bin Radin Sohadi is now the new Director General, Department of Higher Education. He will be replacing the Hon. Dato' Prof. Dr. Hassan Said.

An Explosion of Culture at the International Student Carnival
"One Global Village" was the theme of this year’s International Student Carnival, hosted by Sunway University College and co-organised together with the Ministry of Higher Education. The 2-day event held recently was a combined effort of 36 public and private institutions of higher learning and saw 2,500 international students participating in an Inter-Varsity Sports Carnival, a Student Forum and a Cultural Night.

The sports carnival saw students competing in futsal, basketball, captain’s ball and tug-of-war. The forum provided a platform for international students to share their views and explored what could be done to cater to the needs of the international student community in Malaysia. Five international students spoke on issues such as cross-cultural communication, stress, expectations and adjusting to a new cultural environment.
